The Turkish singer Haroun Teboul is known for his interpretations of Sufi poems as well as being an accomplished player of the ‘oud and the ney. Teboul studied classical music from the Ottoman period before turning to a more contemporary repertoire. He has recently performed with dervish turners from Istanbul.
